Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Academies Trust
We are delighted to share with you news of an exciting development involving our Catholic Multi Academy Trusts in the Catholic Diocese of Northampton.
On the 14th December 2018 the Diocesan Trustees received a report from the Diocesan Schools Commission setting out a proposed strategic plan to create two regional Catholic Academy Trusts to serve the North and South of the Diocese, a proposal, which had been discussed extensively with school leaders over the previous five months.
The Trustees unanimously supported the Diocesan School Commission strategic plan. It is the view of Directors that this will secure capacity, school improvement, leadership recruitment, formation, strong governance and co-operation between schools to strengthen our Catholic mission.
As an initial phase, in January 2020, the Multi Academy Trusts of St Francis of Assisi (Bedford Catholic Schools), St Luke’s (North Northants) and St Thomas of Canterbury (Northampton) are merging to form a new Trust, Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Academies Trust.
As of September 2019, Tony Bishop has taken on the role of designate Strategic Executive Leader for the new Trust.
